Paradise Revisited

Paradise indeed. Suitable location for a dream home? Maybe something like the picture below?

The dream.....

Beautiful. Solid. Handcrafted by a dying breed of Albanian stonemasons. Warm in winter. Cool in summer. Perfect. But we had other ideas........

The reality

Don't be fooled by the luxurious exterior. We lived at a 45 degree tilt for most of the time (plays havoc with the cupboard doors, believe me) and we had no electricity or running water. Everyone says I'll look back and think "How quaint!" in a few years time. Don't think so!
There'll be water and electricity in a couple of months, allegedly....
I think I should also add that this caravan was bought from a real gypsy, I kid you not. We were amazed that it was still there the next morning, and that we didn't have to buy our own caravan back again before the end of the summer!

The water crisis

This is how we "sorted" the running water situation. The shower wasn't too bad except that the water often got too hot, and old farmers always seemed to pass by when it was washing time. Now, I'm not implying anything, but it happened just once too often.....

Feeding time at the zoo

When they're not actually catching and eating fish, our friends are talking or dreaming about them. You can even take your own freshly caught fish to a taverna where they'll grill them for you and supply the wine and salads. We had a few nights like this. I think this pic says it all.
